Weeks 1 and 2 Announcements

Wow!

The first week of fifth grade was a great success!  What a fun and well-behaved class!  I can already tell that we are going to have many memorable moments this year!

Please take a minute to look over the posted catechism memory schedule.  The first scheduled memory is this coming Friday.  It will be the books of the Old Testament, from Genesis to Song of Songs.

As far as Friday's memory schedule (these are scriptural), please keep up-to-date on your child's planner for these.  I will try to let the students know by Tuesday of each week what the Friday memory will be.  The use of planners in fifth grade is ENFORCED , and every day they will get filled out!  I check them every other Friday and I give them a grade!  Gasp!!

Expectations have been explained to the students, and we are on our way of becoming a well-oiled machine!  It has been stressed to the students that it is important to work well with one another in Christ, as the entire student body attended an assembly on bullying.  Mr. Jay did an excellent job of creating and presenting this to the students!  The points were well-taken!

As we get into the next weeks of class, there will be tests, quizzes, and assignments.  Your child should be well-informed as to what is due and when it is due.  Check your child's planner!  Also, I have told the students that it is important to read from 20-30 minutes each night, as well as going through basic multiplication and division flashcards.

If you ever have any questions, please email me!  I am pretty quick to respond to emails when time allows me throughout the day.  Check out our photo album of edited pics I took of the kids last week!

In His service,
Mrs. Sande
